The stars couldn't align right over the last couple weeks to get posts together and the cherry on top of everything was me taking my daughter to my job on Take your Child to Work Day and her running into a full panel of glass, breaking 3 of her teeth!!  It's been a  bit of a whirlwind, to say the least in my household.  But nonetheless, as I get older, I realize there's no actual skin regimen in my life!  I've also noticed that my skin doesn't rebound from the elements as quickly as it used to.   IT Cosmetics put together this tote to help us ladies bounce back from this brutal Winter that we've endured.  It's packed with moisturizers, creams and other jewels to get us back dewy and refreshed for whenever this weather starts cooperating!
I swear this is one of the absolute CUTEST packages I've ever received and I've had my share of PR packages!  The great thing is that I will be able to use this tote box to hold other beauty items of mine once I'm done with these or I could give it to my daughter to start her kit! :)
Here's the scoop!

I absolutely LOVE IT Cosmetics skin CARE products!  They still have a LOT of work to do on their makeup for women of color because STILL, their darkest shade of product is too light for me.  But that's another post, on another day - we want to highlight what's here and I am most stoked about the makeup remover wipes!  I've used the other creams and I'm a fan of them, so hopefully, these wipes will be just as good as my favorites I currently use!

Have you tried any of these items?  If so, let me know how you like them!  Or do you plan on trying them?

Ok, so let's talk about this Hunter X Target drop that happened over the weekend!  If you got a chance to experience it, then you probably already know what I am about to say.  But for those who were smart enough to stay at home and shop online, let me give you my experience.  I am one for a good Target collaboration!  I've been to the Altuzarra drop and I've talked about both the Toms and Lily Pulitzer drops, but this one was a way different experience than the others!
I had it all planned that Caryss and I would get up and be out of the house around 7:30 to go to the Troy Target since I know that one typically carries the most of the items that drop when Target collaborates with other brands.  And we were out by 7:35a and arrived at Target at around 7:45a.  It was raining, so perfect weather for the items that we were going for, but we didn't dress for rainy weather at all!
I didn't get a photo of the line outside of the store, but you get the gist of how many folks were there just based on the photos below.  Excuse my language scripted on my Instagram story vid, but y'all, I don't do well in these kind of situations.  This is why I don't Black Friday shop!
My sole intent on going for this drop was to try stuff on for this post and to get Caryss and I a pair of boots, an umbrella, maybe a bag and raincoat for Caryss and I and the oversized sweater dress (not on the site anymore).  By the time we made it to the area where the Hunter collection sat, it was sheer pandemonium!  People were shoving and pushing and the only thing I could think of was if someone put their hands on my daughter, that store wouldn't exist anymore! Nonetheless, I finally wiggled my way to grab the last 2 size 8 rain boots (great thing about having a daughter that's almost my height is that we wear the same shoe size in most shoes) and I picked up a few other things.  The sweater dress was actually sold online only (and all sold out at this time).  When I saw that I wasn't getting anywhere else, I headed to checkout and left!
I promised Caryss a Starbucks treat for heading out with me so early, so we went to my local area Target, which was wayyy quieter and they had more items there because most people don't usually go to this one for drops.  It's smaller than the one in Troy, so they usually don't get all of the pieces.  None of Targets brick and mortar stores actually got the tall boots, which I was a little bummed about, but I already have a tall pair, so it wasn't so bad.  I really wanted to get Caryss a pair because the ones that I bought for her (at regular price, smh) were too small (still sitting brand new in the box, so if anyone needs a size 6 pair of bubblegum pinks, I got you).  I was able to try on a few things before we got our sugary treats.
This Chain Trim sweater has to be my favorite clothing piece and the Hooded Trench Coat in Khaki is a must have! (yes, we looked ROUGH going in there, LOL)
I kinda liked this Packable Raincoat for Caryss but it was just a little too "not girly" for me!
All in all, I was quite okay with everything that we got!  We ended up with the Waterproof Ankle Boots, we both ended up with a Large Push Bag and a Small Pouch Bag and I got a Wallet in Pink.  I am going to keep an eye out on the sweaters (here and here) just in case they end up on sale.  $30 isn't expensive for a sweater, but I need to feel like I got a good deal on them!  How'd it go for you and Hunter for Target?  Did you get what you wanted or did you sit this one out?
Don't forget to link away below!  I would love to see what you wore/did last week!

After going through my posts to revamp my Good Eats series, I notice that the second installment was missing!  I know that I didn't delete it on purpose, so it must have been by accident!  With that being said, I will be sharing with you my thoughts on Detroit Cookie Co. in Ferndale!  Since I originally wrote about them back in September, her company has gained their 6 months wings (meaning that she's been open for 6 months), so BIGGEST Congratulations on this accomplishment!
sweatshirt: house of rehab
Detroit Cookie Co. is the end result of a bright idea from Lauren Roumayah!  Now, I had the pleasure of working with her briefly at my current place of employment and she was a sweetheart then and still is now.  She grew tired of the 9 to 5 life and wanted to fulfill her passion while filling others stomachs with her delicious creations.  I would HIGHLY encourage you to follow them on Instagram, your sweet tooth will not be disappointed!  Let's go ahead and dive on in to the magic that is Detroit Cookie Co.
Detroit Cookie Co has some of the cutest saying on their walls!  It's decorated with an old school vibe using a pleasant mixture of tables and chairs and booth style seating.  There's even a "bar counter" vibe once you enter.  They carefully used purples and blues on accent walls along with the main black and white that make up the interior.  Again, all of these photos were taken back in September 2017.

The world would not revolve (in my book) without the yummy taste of cookies and ice cream, so obviously, this was a treat date.  Detroit Cookie Co has a HUGE variety on their menu (and more released since then).  Not only are there traditional flavors like chocolate chunk and butter pecan, but listen.... They have some flavors that include Detroit based products and their one of a kind concoctions like raspberry/Oreo/cheesecake cookies and Golden Grahams Krispie treats, the combinations almost seem to be endless!  I have to go and get an updated menu photo so that you can understand where I am coming from!  They also have ice cream, gourmet coffees and other items rounding out their menu.  The photos that I have are of our assorted dozen and their yummy superman ice cream!

Detroit Cookie Co. pricing is what to be expected of a gourmet cookie shop!  Their pricing range depending on what you request, so it's hard to give a round about range.  I wouldn't expect to get a dozen cookies on a Chip Ahoy budget, since these are hand and home made everyday , a few times a day.

I am so proud of Lauren for stepping out of her comfort zone and sharing with us everything that Detroit Cookie Co is! When you have a passion for something, it truly shows through the hard work and the product and I will go back to her shop a million times over.  If you are in the area of Woodward, between 9 and 10 mile, stop by Detroit Cookie Co, you won't be disappointed!

Currently in the works of the next Good Eats post, so stay tuned!
