"Autumn arrives in early morning, but spring at the close of a winter day."
-Elizabeth Bowen

Holy 90 degrees!  Hope everyone is enjoying their start to the Fall season!  The return of all things Pumpkin Spice, cute scarves & those loved/hated Ugg/Ugg-like boots!  Here in MI, we've been flirting with 90° for the past week or so and it won't be subsiding until the end of this week! πŸ”₯ Certainly not complaining because once its gone, it's GONE! ✌🏾Cheers to soaking up these last few faux days of Summer! 🍻

I have to admit, I was a little jealous reading through blogs Friday and seeing all of the Fall fashion in action, while I'm over here literally on fire.  I have to think that some of you braved the element like I did to get those shots!  I decided to go with something that could go from a warmer Fall day, like today, to the actual temps of the season and maybe even into the beginning of Winter with some layering.

I was persua-, I mean, "inspired" to get this dress by Airie of Fashion to Live FL Style.  I had this dress in my cart forEVA and just wasn't sure if I should get it.  I saw the way she styled it and bought it at that very moment.  Hers is from ShoeDazzle, but lucky for me, JustFab was having a major sale, so I copped it for only $14.98!

A couple things with this dress before you take the plunge.  I generally wear a medium in dresses, so that's what I ordered, but when it came, it was HUGE on me!  The knit of the dress is one of the looser ones making me think that it would probably lose shape over the day.  I ended up sending it back and exchanging for a small, which is what I'm wearing.  I'm hoping that after the first wash/dry, that it will fit a little tighter.  Also (as you can see) even though its a knit, you may wanna hit it with a steamer before you wear it.  The crease across the bottom is KILLING me to look at in the photos, but I will get over it.  Mother Nature and her 90° temps made that choice for me!

“If you don't know where you are going, any road can take you there”
I realize that this ISN'T the best angle that I should shoot at but the idea behind hubby's thinking was great! This post serves as the introduction to my GOOD EATS segment that's new to Birth of a Fashion Blogger. There's absolutely more to life than just good clothes and I plan on scouring my area (and traveling to some others in the future) to try out and share my thoughts on restaurants that are new to my taste palette.

First up is the cute and quaint restaurant nestled in Birmingham, Mi named Mad Hatter Bistro.  I first heard of this eatery from the infamous Seoung (pronounced Sung) of Chow Down Detroit!  Seoung travels all over the state of MI (and occasionally visits others too) to keep us in the loop of what's either opening soon or already established locations that we dare not bypass!  I found his food adventures originally on Instagram, but he's all over the place (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and he's a blogger too!).  If you LOVE food (who doesn't) or just enjoy the art of food photography, check out Chow Down Detroit! (pic heavy post guys)

So, since y'all know I'm all about my fashion, I couldn't let this go without sharing what we wore!  We kept it casual with Caryss and I semi #twinning with denim overalls and rose gold shoes.  Cal and hubby are wearing blue tops and khaki colored bottoms (which wasn't planned at all 🀷🏾‍♀️).

So, anyone who's close to me knows that I love ANY and EVERY thing related to Alice in Wonderland!  I've always been a fan of the tale and the revamp of the story in 2010 with Johnny Depp has to be my favorite rendition of it.  It has a certain darkness behind it and I'm here for it!

The Mad Hatter Bistro has just enough Alice to appeal to everyone.  Not too overdone to where you think you are at a child's birthday party but enough to take your imagination there!  I wish I would've gotten a photo of the couch when you first walk in the door but it was occupied and I missed a photo op with the bathroom (totally cutesy guys, I'm not a weirdo, lol).

They also have a downstairs area where you can host an event for up to 30 guests and it's just like falling down the rabbit hole guys (which it is so cleverly named)!  Absolutely LOVE it!!

Ahhhh, the food, the real reason we came, right? I can say that I was EXTREMELY satisfied with my meal and my husband and kiddos were too! We had the pleasure of being waited on by the lovely Genevieve and she was a great hostess! She greeted us quick, gave us time to figure out what we wanted since it was our first time there and didn't rush us even though they were filling up quickly (reservation highly recommended)!

Our reservation was at 12:30 on Saturday, so our choices came from their Weekend Brunch menu.  My husband had the Caramel Apple Stuffed French Toast w/ scrambled eggs and sausage, Caryss and I had the Red Velvet Pancakes (I had sausage and she had bacon) and my son Cal had regular pancakes with sausage. Y'all, everything was AMAZING!!! And I'm not just saying this (because we did pay for this out of our pockets) so YASSS, this is genuine!!

With all of the research I did on this restaurant before we came, I anticipated it being the amount that we paid, I was off about $5 (not including the tip).  Not the cheapest restaurant for Saturday morning brunch but for the atmosphere and the taste of the food, it was definitely worth it and we will most certainly be back again!!  The only downer was that I later learned that we could've saved 20% on our bill by showing them that I "LIKE" their Facebook page (which OF COURSE I do because I've stalked them religiously over the past few months 😩), but that's okay, water under the bridge!  If you are local and want to know what to expect to pay, here are their LunchWeekend Brunch and Daily Dinner menus.    To accommodate the kiddos, here are the Children's Lunch/Dinner and Children's Saturday/Sunday Brunch menus.  They also have a menu for their Tea Parties, which are held between the hours of 11-4 and you NEED a reservation to have one!

I had a great experience here at the Mad Hatter Bistro!  Everyone there from the time we arrived until we left were nothing but nice, the atmosphere took me exactly where I expected to go, the food was AMAZING for the price and I most certainly cannot wait to go back!  Thanks to Genevieve for the hospitality and not looking at me weird when I pulled out my camera to start snapping and thanks Mad Hatter Bistro for this memory!

Be back next month with a new restaurant!

Happy Monday Loves! πŸ’™ See you next week with my 1st Fall look of the season (😱)!

"Me and my boo in my boo's coupe riding.."
Alright now with the HOT red dress! πŸ”₯ I have to say that I've been shopping my closet a whole lot more lately and I've been pleasantly surprised more and more every time!!  I never really considered myself a "red" person, but this dress screams YASSS (insert as many "S" as possible like usual).  This was my "step outside the box" piece and I'm glad that I did because this will be in my closet for a long time!

"I do this all for you, baby just take aim..."
1st off, happy belated Beyonce´πŸŽ‰pretty sure most of my posts will be titled after her songs this month!

A little olive dress, some fly olive booties and a floral cover up on one of Summer's last eve's screams YASSS (insert as many "S" to fit your mood 😝)!  This is the perfect outfit to go out with the hubby or can easily be converted to a night out with the girls!  I'll share my Forever XXI experience a little later, but can we just shout out to the #lastdaysofsummer?

As I mentioned in SUMMER BREEZE, I have been a HUGE fan of AMI Clubwear for years!  I can remember browsing their site for hours looking at the shoes.  I am quite impressed with their quality of the clothing pieces that I have from them.  They are very reasonably priced and have a wide selection to fit just about anyones style! (check out this Halloween post feat. AMI)

When I saw these booties, I knew it was love at first site!  I have to get out and shoot a NEW SHOES post for my new additions from AMI.  Olive is my second favorite color (I have an olive obsession tag 😩) to grey, so it was destined that they would be in my closet.  I absolutely LOVE this dress, I'm only wishing that I'd sized down on it.  While it fits my hips/bootay area, it's kinda loose in the midsection (which is fine for now, but not when I hit MILF status πŸ™Œ).  Check out AMI Clubwear if you aren't familiar with them.  I'm sure you will pleasantly surprised!

I went to Forever XXI after my nail appointment this past Saturday to pick up a couple goodies and stumbled across a couple steals! I originally was going in to hunt down this duster to go with my GAWJUS™ dress from AMI Clubwear, but had no luck finding it. I happened to run across the one that I'm wearing, which retailed $15.90, grabbed up a couple chokers and headed to the counter.

Once I got there, the cashier rang everything and had to do a double take at the items scanned. The duster/kimono rang up $5, this choker set rang up $1 and the other choker was regular price, but only at $3.90! I planned on spending around $27, but my total was a little less than $11. I don't get to do too much shopping for myself, but when I do, I search for the steals!

Ya man ain't never seen a booty like this..."

Happy Thursday Loves! πŸ’š Do you have plans for the weekend?  I have to get my bridesmaids dress fitted, but other than that, I am completely open!  See you guys next week!

"Rising up, back on the street...Did my time, took my chances..."
Ok, so for the 468th time this year, I am going to be starting on a new fitness journey coming this week. I've had a few minor health issues that were in my way, but now that I've overcome them, I'm ready to get back into play! These will serve as my starter photos and I hope that I can get into some major MILF shape over the Fall and Winter months. It's just about time to get serious about my health.
