For the first time ever, two beautiful shades were chosen as Pantone's Color of the Year!  If you haven't heard by now, the prettiest color combination is holding 2016's title and I couldn't be more excited about this.  Of course, you don't need validation if there is something out there that you just completely drool over, but it sure does make you feel good when something that you've loved for so long get nationwide recognition!
This years colors are the BEAUTIFUL Rose Quartz and STUNNING Serenity and this could be considered a bit of a non-traditional color association. In many parts of the world we are experiencing a gender blur as it relates to fashion, which has in turn impacted color trends throughout all other areas of design. This more unilateral approach to color is coinciding with societal movements toward gender equality and fluidity, the consumer's increased comfort with using color as a form of expression, a generation that has less concern about being typecast or judged and an open exchange of digital information that has opened our eyes to different approaches to color usage. -taken from the Pantone website-
What I'm most excited about is that I have ALWAYS been a huge fan of these colors ESPECIALLY together!  I wish I was able to take a picture every time that I wore it!  You can believe though, I am on the hunt for an spring-spiration outfit for both my daughter and I to do mommy-daughter photos!  Pantone put together a list of color pairings that I listed below, which I agree with maybe 3 of them.  I also decided to turn to Polyvore to put together a Pantone Color of the Year inspiration board!  Check it out!
