OBSESSION

My Perception of Blogging

OK guys.  This is not an ordinary post that I would write, but I figured since I have been asked this more than once, I will give my spin on it.  I have been asked a few times how I come up with my blog topics and how to make them interesting.  In actuality, this is one of the HARDEST things that I do on a regular basis.  I have never really been the one who can sit down and write INTERESTING stuff that would draw readers (at least I didnt think I could).  I write about what is interesting to me, as shallow as that may seem.  I also read a LOT of other peoples blogs to learn what NOT to do.  Let me explain what I mean.

When I say "what NOT to do", I really mean "how I would want someone NOT to perceive me.  In my everyday life, I don't curse like a sailor, so why write that way.  There are so many different personalities around, but speaking on a level that can attract all should do the trick.  I am not perfect.  I don't walk around with a dictionary in my back pocket to make sure that I can come up with the most intricate, hard to pronounce word to describe the color red.  However, I dont have to dumb myself down either.  The thing I cant stand the most is reading something thAt iss tYpEd LYKKE thissss.  IT KILLS ME!!!

The next thing is something that I was guilty of over the last few months.  NOT POSTING AT ALL.  Why begin doing it if you know that there may be a reason to put on the back burner or just forget about completely.  I had to sit down and have a really good talk with MYSELF and put things back into perspective.  I have my family, my main job and my hobbies.  I cannot forget about the things that make me happy (other than my family and friends) and that clear my head.  Everyone needs their time of course to live their life and do other things, but I figure (again) why start something you cant finish?

Using your own content.  A lot of fashion blogs have a tendency to use a lot of stock photos, which is okay, but why not use your own content as well.  I love to take photographs, even if its just of a rock on the sidewalk, I can say that I did that.  I also like to see style boards where you can use those stock photos and create something beyond beautiful.  They may still be internet pics, but along with your imagination, you can make it into something more.

Staying true to you.  As your blog, YouTube channel, etc, begins to take off and flourish to where a lot of people are responding to you and the offers start to kick in, it is important to stay true to what you know.  I must admit, on a few occasions, I was offered " a great way to make tons of money" by endorsing this or doing that (and you guys may remember those points in my videos) and it just didn't seem like me anymore.  I was trying to make it BIG in what I was doing and wasn't smart at what I was accepting.  But if there is any advice that I can give to anyone is to make sure that what you are doing reflects YOU!

Is my blog perfect.  By all means, NO.  There is SOOOOOOO much that I would like to see this transpire into, but in do time.  What is meant to happen will, but I am going to make sure that I am behind it to the very fullest!  I hope this helps in someway to inspire someone's thoughts, whatever they may be.

Goodnight!
Chanda
